New Jersey Residents Seek Credit Card Offers

Since we are located in New Jersey, we tend to speak with alot of clients who reside in NJ. Consumers demand for credit card offers have risen recently. The most probably reason is most likely because the of Holiday season. Consumers need access to credit to purchase goods and services. Credit Cards are a great resource for this, but here are some tips to help you once you obtain credit.

Don’t purchase more that you can afford to pay off in a reasonable time period.

Don’t make late payments, or you will have very high interest rates, and have a very difficult time paying off the credit card.

Don’t let a friend or family member “borrow” your credit card. When it comes to money, your friends can quickly become your enemies.

Shop around for a credit card offer with the best interest rate and fees.

Have you been refused a credit card? You will need to find a credit card that can help your establish credit. Try looking at a secured credit card offer, which will require a deposit of money for your credit limit, fees, and higher interest rates. (But you have to start somewhere)

So there you go New Jersey Credit Card Offer Seekers. Be smart, shop smart, save money. A recent poll suggested that people are using credit cards to purchase gifts for the holidays, but many people in New Jersey have saved money just for the season, thus they don’t need to use there credit cards, or limit the use of. To those that didn’t save, take note of the concepts above.

In no way is this to be considered “investment advice or financial advice” This blog post is provided for informational purposes only.

New Credit Card Laws

Laws are in full force this year as Colleges have special requirements limiting credit card marketing. The new credit card laws are designed to try to help educate students about credit, before they actually start to apply for a credit card. In the past, college students simply applied for a credit card, grabbed their free shirt or candy bar that was given to them, and starting to ring up bills on their new student credit card. They had not idea how to properly manage credit, or leverage credit. They simply went on a shopping spree with their free money (in their mind). All was great, untill they received a credit card bill at the end of the month.

Educating college students about credit cards makes sense. If students learn about credit early on in life, they can saves hundreds and thousands of dollars in interest in the future. How? When people go to apply for a homes loan, car loan, or other type of loan, the better there credit history, then the lower the rate of interest they have to pay. Did you ever try to pay off a large credit card bill with an interest rate of 25%? Good luck with that, especially if you have limited income.

Start learning about credit today. You can contact the FTC more more credit card education materials. Once you understand credit and you are interested in applying for student credit cards online, feel free to check out some of our student credit card offers on CreditCardFactory.com.

Some Basics of the New Credit Card Laws

The new credit card laws require credit card companies to disclose certain things such as:

When your interest rates will increase

When other credit card fees will increase

When other significant changes to your terms and conditions will change

How long it will take to pay off your credit card balance

Students, there laws are here to protect your and educate you, so if you see the opportunity on campus to learn more about credit, then take advantage of it.

Best Secured Credit Card Offers

So, you are trying to find about what bank offers the best secured credit card offer? There are several banks that offer secured cards. Here are a few names: Public Savings Bank, Applied Bank, Orchard Bank

First, what is a secured credit card. People with no credit, or even bad credit, should be considering a secured credit card. Credit Card Companies understand that you need to start somewhere. So, they created a credit card that requires a security deposit (collateral). By doing this, you are telling them, I want a credit card, and I am willing to put money up into a savings account as collateral to prove to you in the long run that I am responsible and I will repay my debt. Use the card responsibly, pay it on time every month, and start to re-establish credit.

According to the FTC, This is the difference between a Secured Card and an Unsecured Card:

Secured and unsecured cards can be used to pay for goods and services. However, a secured card requires you to open and maintain a savings account as security for your line of credit; an unsecured card does not.

The required savings deposit for a secured card may range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. Your credit line is a percentage of your deposit, typically 50 to 100 percent. Usually, a bank will pay interest on your deposit. In addition, you also may have to pay application and processing fees — sometimes totaling hundreds of dollars. Before you apply, be sure to ask what the total fees are and whether they will be refunded if you’re denied a card. Typically, a secured card requires an annual fee and has a higher interest rate than an unsecured card.

When you are comparing secured credit card offers, there are a few things you need to look at.

Annual Fees

Monthly Fees

Service Charges

Intro APR

Ongoing APR

Minimum Deposit Required

Eligibility Requirements: Income and Age

Make yourself an excel spread sheet, compare each offer side by side, and determine which offers looks more desirable. A little homework can save you alot of money, especially when it comes to applying for a loan, or credit card (both secured and unsecured credit cards)

Compare the Best Secured Credit Card Offers at CreditCardFactory.com. You can click, compare credit card applications, and apply online.
